About Us
Welcome to Throb, where the beat never stops
Our Story
Throb is the brainchild of Nicky Guccione, a lifelong music aficionado whose love for the art burns as bright as a thousand spotlights. After attending her first concert at the ripe old age of 7, Nicky knew that she destined for a life in the music world. Encouraged by her father, Nicky combined her love for writing and music and published her first magazine, Nicks News, when she was only 12. Nicks News was mostly just Nicky waxing poetic about old Fleetwood Mac albums, with a significant focus on her idol, Stevie Nicks. That first foray into publishing may have been small, but it planted a seed that would blossom into a powerful passion.
Nicky’s music journalism groove kept grooving when she hit the blogosphere with Not Another Mixtape from 2009 to 2014, racking up fans and followers galore on Tumblr. But Throb? This is the real deal – Nicky’s lifelong dream to create a space where music lovers of all stripes can come together and let that universal language of music work its magic.
Nicky’s inspiration for starting Throb goes beyond just a love for music. She wanted to create a platform that not only celebrates artists but also shines a spotlight on the often-overlooked aspects of the music industry. From producers and sound engineers to managers and agents, Throb aims to honor everyone who contributes to the artistry and creation of music.
